Exciting News: Samsung Set to Launch New Galaxy Phones on Jan. 17

Samsung is gearing up to unleash its new fleet of mobile devices on Jan. 17, which are presumed to be the highly anticipated Galaxy S24 series. The tech giant teased that the upcoming devices are expected to feature new AI-powered capabilities in addition to the standard camera and processor upgrades.

Traditionally, Samsung has focused on enhancing the camera quality to distinguish its new phones from previous models. However, the Galaxy S24 series is poised to integrate AI in a significant way this year. These devices are anticipated to be the first to incorporate Galaxy AI, described by the company as a “comprehensive mobile AI experience” when it was first hinted at in November. Along with these advancements, rumors and leaks have hinted at a potential new titanium build and a design with flatter edges for the top-of-the-line Ultra model.

For those eager to get their hands on the new Galaxy devices, Samsung has announced that the launch event will be hosted at the SAP Center in San Jose, California at 10 a.m. PT, with a live stream available across Samsung’s platforms. To incentivize early reservations, the company is offering a promotion where customers who reserve a device through Samsung’s website or app before Jan. 16 will receive a $50 credit.

The January Unpacked event comes as tech companies are exploring innovative ways to incorporate generative AI into mobile devices. An example of this is seen in Google’s Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which offer AI-powered photo editing features for manipulating objects in photos. Additionally, Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, expected to power the Galaxy S24 series, was specifically designed to bring additional AI capabilities to smartphones.

With the information from supposed leaks and Samsung’s Galaxy AI announcement, it appears that the Galaxy S24 series will serve as a further testament to the fact that smartphones are moving in a direction centered around AI.
