Why Anthony Joshua Could Be a Perfect Opponent for Francis Ngannou, According to Dan Hardy

Dan Hardy On Possible Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou Boxing Match

Get ready! According to a recent chat on MMAFighting.com‘s “The MMA Hour,” Dan Hardy thinks that Francis Ngannou might just give Anthony Joshua a run for his money thanks to his ability to take a hit.

“When it comes to handling Ngannou, Tyson Fury is definitely the biggest challenge stylistically,” Hardy mentioned on The MMA Hour. “He’s quick on his feet, has excellent upper body movement, and solid defense. On the other hand, Anthony Joshua or Joe Joyce are a bit more straightforward in their approach and don’t handle punches as well. They definitely can’t recover as efficiently as Tyson Fury does.”

Hardy also expressed uncertainty about whether Joshua could endure Ngannou’s power.

“To be honest, Anthony Joshua is likely one of the more suitable opponents for Ngannou among the heavyweights,” Hardy said. “I like the idea of a Joe Joyce fight because of his technical amateur boxing style, but his head tends to stay in one place. He doesn’t bob and weave much.”

“The thing with Anthony Joshua is, I’m not sure if he can bounce back if he goes down, especially against a fighter who is still early in their career with an 0-1 record. I feel like it would unravel much quicker.”
