Apple has introduced plenty of privacy settings, but the reality is that these tools can only get you so far if your basic security practices are not in place. One of the basics of online security is having a strong password, which should cover everything from your online accounts to your network connections, including personal hotspots.
Many people are still using commonly hacked passwords, which could allow unauthorized connections to your personal hotspot when you’re on the go. This could potentially compromise the security of your iPhone and other devices in the network. If you’re wondering how to change your existing iPhone hotspot password to something more secure, here’s how.

To change your iPhone hotspot password, you first need to turn on your cellular data. Then, open the Settings app on your iPhone and select Cellular. Turn on your cellular data. Navigate back to the main iPhone Settings page and tap Personal Hotspot. Tap Wi-Fi Password and enter your new password. This will make your Wi-Fi network more secure, and easier to remember with the help of iPhone’s saved passwords and password management apps.
In addition to changing your iPhone hotspot password, you may also want to consider changing your iPhone AirDrop name to avoid potential security risks. Ready to make the change? Read more about how to change your iPhone hotspot password here.
