Get ready to be blown away by the next generation of progressive metal guitarists who are taking the electric guitar to new heights. Tim Henson, Scott LePage, and Manuel Gardner Fernandes are redefining prog metal instrumentalism through Polyphia, with an unmatched blend of classic shred skills and boundary-pushing chops.
Henson, LePage, and Fernandes recently joined forces for Unprocessed’s latest track, Die on the Cross of the Martyr, bringing a four-and-a-half-minute guitar masterclass that is sure to be one of the best progressive guitar playing of the year.
Featuring furious tapping, mesmeric tunes, and tight whammy pedal action, this track is a true showcase of the trio’s god-tier guitar skills. It even prompted one observer to say: “God damn what a time to be alive!”
In a press statement, Unprocessed described the new track as “the ultimate guitar geek’s wet dream”. And as if the chops weren’t impressive enough, Henson’s choice of an oddly styled eight-string Ibanez guitar adds another layer of intrigue.
Is this a hint of yet another addition to Henson’s signature toolbox? With its unique Tree of Death fingerboard inlay, this model could very well be the next addition to Henson’s line of signature designs.
