Former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in his comments on a recent poll. In a social media post on Friday, he called the New Hampshire poll a “scam” after it showed a close race between him and GOP rival Nikki Haley. Trump currently leads the 2024 Republican presidential primary, but Haley is gaining ground, scoring 29% compared to Trump’s 33% in the poll.
Trump’s criticism of the American Research Group survey isn’t the first time he has targeted Haley, whom he has referred to as “birdbrain.” Despite this, the polls indicate a shift in momentum for Haley, with another survey in New Hampshire this week and an Iowa poll also showing improvements in her standing.
Other contenders in the poll included former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie with 13% support, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with 6%, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy with 5%.
New Hampshire’s Republican presidential primary is scheduled for Jan. 23, eight days after Iowa’s caucuses.
