The Jacksonville Jaguars have received some game-changing news on the eve of their match against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jacksonville announced that quarterback Trevor Lawrence has cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and is joining the team for the important contest against the AFC South leaders.
Despite it being initially reported that Lawrence was “likely” to miss the game, it seems he will ultimately be suiting up, in a situation similar to his quick return earlier this season after suffering a high-ankle sprain.
Since Lawrence became the franchise quarterback, he’s yet to miss a game in his career and his potential to take the Jaguars to the playoffs looms large now, especially since they are fighting for a division crown but have lost three in a row.
With Lawrence under center, Jacksonville’s playoff chances are far more promising than with backup C.J. Beathard.
