Travis Kelce’s teammate Rashee Rice has opened up about why he won’t ask Taylor Swift for a photo, despite being friends with the pop icon’s boyfriend.
In a recent interview on Fubo Sports’ “Airing It Out” podcast, the rookie wide receiver shared that he thinks it would be awkward to seek out a photo with the 34-year-old singer due to his close friendship with the 34-year-old football superstar.
Rice explained, “All the invitees know us on a personal level, and in the case of [Patrick Mahomes] or Trav, it is not as football stars but as friends. It’s just Pat and it’s just Trav.”
The 23-year-old went on to say that he would refrain from asking another man’s girlfriend for a photo out of respect, but he’s open to the idea of getting a photo with Swift alongside his own girlfriend.
In addition to the respect, Rice also mentioned that he’s “happy for Trav” amid the pair’s high-profile relationship.
Rice also praised Swift for attracting more fans to the Chiefs since she started dating Kelce. “She brought a lot more fans to the team too,” he said.
After a clip of the interview was posted to TikTok, many of the singer’s supporters celebrated Rice for his respectful position. “I love this for her and Trav and mad respect to Rice,” one fan commented.
