The head-on collision occurred at U.S. Route 6’s Veterans Memorial Bridge in Somerset, Massachusetts, just after 11 p.m. on Monday, with devastating consequences. The land rover, traveling on the wrong side of the road, struck the family’s car head-on, leading to the heartbreaking loss.

This senseless tragedy has left a family shattered and a community in mourning. The victims, Floriano Arruda, 73, his wife Donna Arruda, 68, and their grandson, Jacoby Arruda, 15, were all from Seekonk, Massachusetts, near Providence.

While the 15-year-old boy was pronounced dead on Monday night, his grandfather succumbed to his injuries the following morning. The grandmother remains in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital, battling for her life.

The driver of the Land Rover, Adam Gauthier, has been charged with multiple offenses, including manslaughter and drunken driving. He was treated for his injuries and is now in police custody.
