Apex Legends Mobile had all the potential to be a major player in the mobile gaming world, but it failed to live up to the hype. After witnessing the enormous success of games like PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, and CoD Mobile, EA decided to create a mobile version of its own epic battle royale title.
Unfortunately, the game was plagued with bugs and optimization issues upon its release, which hindered its ability to compete with established mobile competitors. While improvements were made throughout 2022, Apex Legends Mobile was never able to capture the same widespread appeal as PUBG Mobile and Free Fire.
Eventually, EA announced in early 2023 that the game would be shutting down on May 1, citing concerns about the game falling short in terms of “quality, quantity, and cadence.”
Despite the potential of Apex Legends Mobile, EA made the decision to pull the plug completely, leaving many fans disappointed.
But could there be hope for Apex Legends Mobile in the future? In the Q3 FY23 Quarterly Results, EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, hinted at the possibility of a “reimagined and connected” Apex Mobile experience down the line. However, since then, there has been no further mention of the game. Only time will tell if players will get another chance to experience Apex on mobile.
