The Kid Laroi has pushed back the Oceania leg of his First Time Tour to October, citing logistical challenges.
Hailing from Waterloo, New South Wales, Kid Laroi (real name Charlton Howard) announced the rescheduled dates for his “first ever stadium tour” on social media, with Ticketek updating its page to reflect the changes.
The concert series was initially set to begin in Melbourne on February 2nd, with stops in Perth, Adelaide, Parramatta, Gold Coast, and Auckland, New Zealand. However, these dates have now been moved to October. The 20-year-old artist released a statement indicating that details about the new schedule will be announced soon.
“We tried to make February work but it’s proving to be logistically impossible,” The Kid Laroi communicated. “I’m sorry to make you wait a bit longer but we will need to move the tour to October. We’re working on the details including some new additions to the lineup and will let you know ASAP.”
In a separate message on social media, the F*ck Love creator elaborated that he and his team had been unable to finalize “a really big surprise & special guest” prior to the original February dates. “The tour will now end off in Australia,” The Kid Laroi further noted.
Already-purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled concerts, and ticketholders “will be contacted with new show dates in due course,” according to the Ticketek listing. Refunds are also available for those who request them.
A message atop the corresponding page shows that the ticketing company is receiving a “large number of requests” for refunds and is taking “longer than usual to respond” as a result.
According to the seating maps for multiple First Time Tour stops, a good number of tickets, including general admission passes and their A$799.90 meet-and-greet VIP counterparts, remained available at the time of this writing.
Aussie and Kiwi fans are weighing in on the postponement, with some venting about their bad luck in attending the “Too Much” act’s live performances.
“i swear I have the worst luck with the kid laroi concerts bc the first time I went last year he postponed while everyone was at the venue & now he’s postponing his tour that’s supposed to be in Feb till October,” one supporter wrote of the delay.
