Skip to the good stuff: Google’s newest capability has enormous promise for saving time and summarizing YouTube videos.
On November 21, Google made significant progress in its Bard project, revealing a new capability to summarize YouTube videos that contains a wealth of untapped potential.
YouTube videos often contain extensive information, and finding a specific piece of content within a long video can be quite time-consuming. Google’s Bard makes it possible to easily summarize the video and dive deeper into the content.
The new capability is significant because it’s free and easy to use, unlike other AI chatbots. It leverages Google’s existing services and features, allowing users to quickly summarize and digest the information they need from YouTube videos.
For example, Google’s Bard can summarize a YouTube video about building a PC, allowing viewers to quickly determine if the video contains the information they’re looking for. The feature embeds the summary directly into the video, providing a convenient way to get an overview of the content without having to watch the entire video.
