Kyle Richards: “My husband Mauricio Umansky and I are working on our marriage”
Reality star Kyle Richards sat down for an exclusive interview with US Weekly and opened up about the state of her marriage with husband Mauricio Umansky. Richards, while discussing her fitness goals, revealed that filming the latest season of ‘RHOBH’ was difficult due to the struggles in her marriage.
She admitted, “Sometimes it gives me anxiety, and sometimes it’s OK. It was difficult shooting the season because I was going through stuff in my marriage, but our daughters didn’t know, and I didn’t feel like sharing it on camera quite yet. But I was honest with the [cast]…”
Richards also expressed her gratitude for the support she has received from fans. She said, “People were upset when they heard [Mauricio and I] were having problems. I felt like we let people down. Some were saying [our marriage] was a farce the whole time. But there were also sweet and supportive messages. I didn’t know so many people cared, but they’ve been in my home for 13 years watching us.”
She continued to detail her feelings about her marriage with Umansky, saying, “We still live in the same house, and we spent [the holidays] together. I have no idea how long we’ll be like that, but we are trying to be as normal as possible in a very un-normal situation.”
The 54-year-old Richards also mentioned that they are attending therapy to work on their marriage and emphasized the difficulties of the unknown future. She stated, “We love each other. We go to therapy. We both want to see each other happy. I don’t know what the future looks like. That’s the hardest part because the unknown is scary.”
