Taylor Swift’s Heartwarming Gesture to Brittany Mahomes Amidst the Kansas City Chiefs Christmas Game Loss

The bond between Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes keeps getting stronger

At the Christmas Day game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders, Swift was caught on video hugging her friend at Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri as the Chiefs lost 20-14 to the Las Vegas Raiders. The wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes appeared to be particularly shocked by the results, so it’s great that Taylor was there with open arms.

During the game, fans also glimpsed Taylor wearing “T” earrings and a festive hat with boyfriend Travis Kelce’s jersey number on it. She kept her spirits up during the game by ringing a bell and chilling with Santa Claus himself–who may be her brother Austin, as multiple members of Taylor’s family attended the game with the 34-year-old pop star.

Taylor was also seen in a group picture with Brittany Mahomes and Lyndsay Bell, the wife of Kelce’s fellow tight end Blake Bell, shared by Brittany on Instagram with the caption “Christmas girlies.”

It’s no surprise that the pair have become best friends after hanging out together at football games over the last few months. Earlier this month, Patrick Mahomes described Taylor as “part of the team,” and said it was cool that she and his wife had “built a friendship” too.

“It’s cool that she’s embraced Brittany, and they’ve built a friendship as well. For me, it’s just Travis, man. He’s lucky enough to be with a great girl and great woman,” the quarterback said on CBS Mornings.

He added, “It’s been cool to interact with her because she’s top-tier at her profession. Just seeing how she drives and she becomes that…Now I have a first hand look at that through Brittany and Travis’ eyes.”

Since Taylor went public with Kelce in late September, Mahomes has also seen her in New York City on multiple occasions, including an outing in SoHo with Blake Lively and Sophie Turner, and another girls’ night in NoHo with Turner, Selena Gomez, and Gigi Hadid. They even have their own secret handshake!

If you weren’t already convinced that the two are a big part of each other’s squads, take them hugging it out on Christmas Day as solid proof. They’re not just fair weather friends. This wasn’t just a photo opportunity. The lows of a devastating athletics loss are a bonding experience like no other.
