The Swiss crypto bank SEBA Bank AG has made a bold move by rebranding to AMINA Bank AG. This exciting change, announced on November 30, marks the beginning of a new era of potential growth for its clients globally.
Franz Bergmueller, CEO of AMINA Bank AG, stated, “While we bid farewell to the SEBA name, we remain forever proud of the achievements made by the team under the previous brand. Our new brand represents a fresh chapter in the company’s growth and strategy; we are a key player in crypto banking and are here to shape the future of finance.”
The word AMINA is derived from “transAMINAtion”, signifying the financial aspects of traditional, digital, and crypto banking, the company explained. AMINA Bank plans to strengthen its strategic hubs in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi in 2024. The rebranding will not impact the services offered to existing clients.
Its subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi will change their names to AMINA Bank for a unified identity across the organization.

In August, SEBA achieved a significant milestone in its growth strategy by securing an Approval-in-Principal (AIP) from Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission. This AIP marked an important step in obtaining a license to provide crypto-related investment services within the Special Administrative Region of China.
SEBA’s journey into Hong Kong began with the establishment of a local entity in the region in 2015. The approval followed Hong Kong’s adoption of new regulations mandating licensing for all crypto companies operating on the island. SEBA praised the region’s regulatory standards, recognizing the crucial role that the AIP plays in expanding its footprint across the Asia Pacific.
Earlier this year, SEBA Bank announced a series of tailored offerings designed to streamline crypto banking for traditional and digital investors. These offerings include three unique programs: Gold, Platinum, and Corporate.
The Gold program focuses on institutional-grade crypto services, while the Corporate program targets businesses in the digital asset sector. Meanwhile, the Platinum program aims to provide personalized support, offering members exclusive benefits like metal credit cards with custom limits.
SEBA has partnered with other entities, including HasKey Digital Asset Group, to accelerate institutional adoption of digital assets in Hong Kong. Additionally, the company has introduced a custody solution for non-fungible tokens.
