Apple makes an easy feature on the iPhone a little too easy to use
It’s remarkably simple to turn on an iPhone’s flashlight from the lock screen. Maybe a little too simple. Most of us have had the experience of noticing our pocket glowing, or even worse, accidentally blinding someone with our phone’s LEDs. Frustratingly, Apple doesn’t let you disable the Flashlight or Camera buttons on the lock screen.
However, for those who find it to be a frequent annoyance, there is a tradeoff available. In Settings > Accessibility > Touch, simply disable Tap or Swipe to Wake. With this option off, you’ll need to press the side or top button to wake your iPhone instead of simply tapping the screen, giving you the opportunity to use a passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID.
For those with an iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max, there is also the option to . This will require an intentional press of about a second, making it much more difficult to trigger accidentally.
