Get ready to see the intensity and drama unfold at a youth basketball game in Colorado. The referees ended up throwing punches in front of kids, and now police tell TMZ Sports they’re investigating the wild fight.
The wild scene took place during a 4th-grade boys hoops game — Cherry Creek vs. Legend Blue — at the Gold Crown Field House in Lakewood, CO. The shocking video captured the whole incident.
As seen in the clip, two referees got into a tiff on the court after some type of disagreement. Things escalate quickly, and one of the refs throws a massive right hook, knocking down the other official. Bystanders managed to hold the ref back from throwing more punches.
Even though the ref who was dropped eventually got up, the altercation wasn’t over. The man then got into a stand-off with another official, but thankfully no punches were thrown this time.
Lakewood Police are aware of the situation but haven’t yet made any arrests, and all the referees involved have been suspended indefinitely by the Gold Crown Foundation.
“We have informed these independently contracted officials that they are suspended indefinitely from working for Gold Crown Foundation,” GCF told us in a statement. “We look forward to getting our league back on track, and resume what will be a great season for the kids.”
