SHENZHEN, China (Reuters) – Prepare to see a significant spike in China’s breathing health problem as a result of recognized pathogens, with no indication of brand-new contagious illnesses according to a health authorities on Saturday. This comes as the nation is about to face its very first complete winter season since lifting rigid COVID-19 restrictions.
The surge in health problems has attracted significant attention, especially after the World Health Organization inquired recently, citing a report on clusters of undiagnosed pneumonia in children.
As a response, Chinese authorities are set to open more paediatric outpatient centers, aim to ensure more elderly individuals and children receive influenza vaccines, and are encouraging everyone to wear masks and practice good hand hygiene. According to Mi Feng, an official with China’s National Health Commission, these measures are being taken very seriously.
While the outbreaks have raised concerns, doctors in China and experts abroad have not expressed alarm, given that many other countries have experienced similar increases in respiratory illnesses after easing pandemic measures.
