The Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with the fallout of a sideline scuffle that occurred during a Week 13 game against the San Francisco 49ers. According to ESPN, the team’s appeal to overturn the NFL’s $100,000 fine and sideline ban of security chief Dom DiSandro was unsuccessful. Despite their efforts, the Eagles have already paid the fine, but DiSandro will not be permitted to join the Eagles on the sideline for the remainder of the regular season. The security chief was ejected from the game after an altercation with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw on December 3, which led to the hefty fine and ban. Still, the Eagles have clinched a playoff spot, so DiSandro will be able to return to the sideline following the regular-season finale on January 7 against the New York Giants. Dominique DiSandro has been part of the Eagles’ staff since 1999 and after a long tenure, he received a harsh punishment from the NFL. The altercation occurred during the Eagles’ 42-19 loss to the 49ers, leading to growing tensions on the sideline. It’s a situation that the Eagles will have to navigate as they look to make a deep playoff run.
