Michigan Teen Shooter Receives Life Sentence for Fatally Killing Four Classmates

Ethan Crumbley, at just 15 years old when he committed his crimes, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. This decision comes after fatally shooting four of his fellow schoolmates at Oxford High School on Nov. 30, 2021, an act which Oakland County Circuit Judge Kwame Rowe has deemed a “real act of terrorism.” Crumbley has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the shooting.

CNN reports that Crumbley has expressed willingness to spend the rest of his life in jail for the school shooting. Defense lawyer Paulette Loftin has stated that her client has spent the last two years in holding cell and is sorry and relieved for this to be done.

Crumbley’s parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, are currently facing separate trials on involuntary murder charges for their involvement in the tragic incident. It is believed that they were aware of their son’s mental state and provided him access to the weapon he used to commit the crime.
