Drifting in Fortnite Rocket Racing game mode.
If drifting is new to you, the sight of your rivals nailing every turn while you struggle can be overwhelming.
Luckily, drifting is not as complex as it seems in this game. You can drift in two ways. The first way is to hold left or right before a turn.
When done correctly, you’ll see smoke coming out of your car and your Turbo charge begin to fill up, signaling that your car has entered drift mode. You can then adjust the drift according to the sharpness of the turn and the time you pressed the directional key before straightening out.

Manual Drift in Fortnite Rocket Racing
If you’re still not comfortable with drifting, manual drifting is the way to go in Fortnite Rocket Racing. This option is easier, especially if you’re still learning the tracks. It’s easy to get caught off-guard with sudden turns, and manual drifting keeps you in control.
With manual drifting, you only need to press a specific key to start drifting, instead of holding a key before a turn. The key you need to press will depend on the platform you’re using – Shift on the keyboard, X on Xbox, Y for Nintendo, or the square on PlayStation.
While you’re drifting, keep an eye on the purple and green bars. These bars are your boost meters, and the fuller they are, the faster and longer your car will boost after drifting.
So, that’s all you need to know about drifting in Fortnite Rocket Racing. With practice, you’ll be able to drift like a pro and outpace your opponents. While you’re here, check out our guides hub for more Fortnite tips and stories.
