The highly anticipated debut of Marc Marquez with Ducati finally took place after the end of his Honda contract. Marquez impressed in the post-season test at Valencia, showcasing his adaptability to the Desmosedici after being with Honda throughout his entire MotoGP career.
Forced to keep coy until January 1 due to contractual obligations, Marquez explained, “I was able to adapt to it much faster than expected. The Ducati is a different bike, with a different style. I’m jumping on the champion bike, so it’s in my hands.”

Marquez was quick from the start during his first test with the Ducati, finishing less than two tenths of a second off the pace set by Aprilia’s Maverick Vinales.
“The speed is there, but I still have a lot of things to understand,” said Marquez. “Not so much to go faster, but to be more consistent.” He went on to note, “the family has received me very well and that’s always nice,” concluding his positive impressions of the new team and bike.
Stay tuned for the team’s official launch in Riccione, Italy on 20 January and the upcoming pre-season test in Malaysia on 6-8 February, where Marquez will partner with his brother Alex at Gresini as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.
