Get ready for an epic showdown at BKFC 56 as Jimmie Rivera goes head to head with Jeremy Stephens! Rivera is amped for this fight, and for good reason.
After his win against Bekhzod Usmonov in his second BKFC fight in May, Rivera has been eagerly waiting for his return to the ring. Now, on the big stage at BKFC 56, he is set to go all out in a highly anticipated fight against Stephens.
Despite the delay in his return, Rivera is stoked to be part of BKFC 56 and is confident it will be well worth the wait. “We were trying to get back in there sooner. But, it all depends on the days Dave is looking at for us to get back in there, so I had to be patient. It’s definitely worth it to be patient because it’s a big card,” Rivera said on Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com.
Having been offered the opportunity to fight Stephens at BKFC 56, Rivera accepted the challenge without a second thought. He believes it will be a thrilling match that fans won’t want to miss.
“I got offered two guys and he was one of the guys. I was like yeah, let’s do that fight, I feel like it will be a fun fight and we will have a lot of fun. With that said, I was like this is going to be fun and we are going to go in there and fight,” River said.
Anticipating an action-packed brawl, Rivera is confident in his ability to secure the win based on his experience. However, he knows it won’t be an easy battle for either side.
“I don’t know, I just think it’s going to be a brawl, it’s going to be a fun fight,” Rivera said. “I think we are going to rock each other and we are going to have fun. At least I’m going to have fun because it’s been a minute since I’ve been in there competing. I’m going in there for a war.”
If Rivera emerges victorious at BKFC 56, he has been promised a shot at the featherweight title. He is determined to win this fight and secure his future in the championship bout against the winner of Kai Stewart vs. Howard Davis.
“That is what I was told. Get this win and then fight for the belt at 145lbs,” Rivera concluded.
