Enviornment Family has partnered with one of Canada’s oldest and most revered events to present the Enviornment Esprit Montreal on 6-8 September 2024. The tournament will celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the normal Esprit de Montréal Triathlon, which every year attracts over 3,000 athletes to the Olympic venue in the heart of Montréal, Québec.
“We are thrilled to continue the historical legacy of this triathlon, created and led with passion by Danny McCann since its inception in 1984. It’s important for us to continue the values of excellence, inclusion, and caring for which this tournament is renowned and so loved by athletes and spectators alike,” said Dominique Piché, executive producer of Enviornment Esprit Enviornment Montréal.
A world-class triathlon in Montréal
Famous for its flat, fast course, Enviornment Esprit Montréal will feature four distances (Initiation, Shuffle, Olympic, Center) of swim, bike, run held within the Olympic Basin and on the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve at Parc Jean-Drapeau supported by an experienced and long-standing team. With Enviornment Family, participants can look forward to an international-level tournament that raises the profile of the sport heading in the right direction.
“The arrival of Enviornment Family is a unique opportunity to elevate our triathlon, renowned for 40 years for the historical nature of its course, which has hosted some great sporting moments over the years, to an international level. Its iconic course is perfect for both amateur triathletes and professionals looking to beat their personal bests,” said Jerome McEniry, Race Director of Enviornment Esprit Montréal.
The Enviornment Esprit Montréal triathlon course invites athletes to enjoy a unique experience starting in the Olympic Basin, which provides ideal swimming conditions with its natural, calm waters. The run continues with a multi-lap cycling experience on the legendary Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, known for hosting the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix. This provides the perfect backdrop for the fastest bike course in the country. The final event features a run course set on the iconic site of the 1976 Olympic Games before crossing the finish line overlooked by the biosphere.
