Seatrium Limited, based in Singapore, has successfully delivered Greece’s First FSRU conversion under the Greek flag for operation in the Aegean Sea to GAS-fifteen Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GasLog LNG Services. The delivery of FSRU Alexandroupolis, previously the 2010-built LNG Carrier GasLog Chelsea, marks a significant milestone for Seatrium Limited.
The FSRU is set to leave the yard on November 8, 2023 and has successfully completed its near-shore testing works. The commissioning of the regasification system is scheduled to begin shortly once the vessel arrives in Greece for its final gas commissioning. It brings with it a new and innovative engineering expertise that signifies a substantial milestone for Seatrium.
The FSRU Alexandroupolis, previously the 2010-built LNG Carrier GasLog Chelsea was once owned by GasLog. Keppel Shipyard welcomed the vessel in early February 2023 for the regasification equipment installation, most of it was pre-assembled and installed.
This FSRU will contribute significantly to Greece’s energy future by enhancing energy security while also supporting the energy transition trajectory of Southeastern Europe. The INGS project will become an essential energy gateway, anchoring Seatrium’s position as an industry-leading player with engineering excellence in the gas value chain. Furthermore, Seatrium remains committed to driving cleaner and more sustainable solutions for the offshore, marine, and energy markets.
