Are you up for a challenge? In 2022, I ran the New York City marathon and trained for a 500-pound deadlift simultaneously. I logged tons of miles and immersed myself in the details of hydration and nutrition gel methods. I was on track to nail that 500-pound deadlift soon, and I was confident I would crush my marathon time of 3:05.

What actually happened was a direct lesson in the difficulties of pursuing multiple fitness goals at once. One such hybrid athlete is Nick Bare, who trains relentlessly and continues to achieve remarkable physical feats. His content on Instagram and TikTok showcase his seemingly non-stop training regimen.

Bare doesn’t just run, he also devotes time to bodybuilding and is even preparing for an ultramarathon. It’s exhausting just to think about.

To better understand the hybrid athlete trend, I looked into Nick Bare’s training methods, and it’s clear that he’s onto something special with his hybrid training programs.
