Fortnite has been known for its amazing crossovers with Dragon Ball, Marvel, and LEGO, but the one brand that Epic has been dreaming of is Nintendo! As reported by axios.com via gonintendo.com, Epic’s head of Fortnite’s community, Saxs Persson, revealed that they have been trying very hard to collaborate with Nintendo but have faced difficulties.
In an interview with Axios in Los Angeles, Persson admitted that they have been making significant efforts but have not had much luck. When asked how hard Epic has tried to charm Nintendo, Persson mentioned, “I don’t know what the word for, like, making diamonds is.”
“Nintendo has their approach and we have our approach, and we hope ‘eventually’ to utilize their characters,” Persson stated, emphasizing how the Fortnite player base would “love it.” This potential collaboration could be Epic’s biggest crossover ever!
Considering Nintendo’s history and the way it protects its intellectual property, it’s hard to imagine Mario running around the battlefield with a tactical attack rifle or any other violent elements. However, Epic might find a way to work around this, similar to its recent collaborations with Rocket League and LEGO.
