Khabib Nurmagomedov’s former coach is optimistic about Tony Ferguson’s future, believing that he can revive his career outside of the UFC.

At UFC 296, Tony Ferguson (26-10 MMA) faced off against Paddy Pimblett (21-3 MMA) in a lightweight bout, resulting in a unanimous decision victory for the 28-year-old Brit.

‘El Cucuy’ is currently struggling with a record of 7 consecutive losses, with his last win dating back to June of 2019.

After the loss, Dana White expressed his respect for Ferguson while hinting at retirement for the seasoned fighter.

Javier Mendez, the head coach at AKA, sees potential for Ferguson outside of the UFC and believes he could thrive in other organizations.

Mendez concluded by stating that Ferguson needs to reflect on his performance after seven consecutive losses.
