Fatal High School Brawl: 15-Year-Old Student Killed by Younger Peer in North Carolina

Two students were involved in a brawl at Southeast Raleigh High School which ended in tragedy as a 15-year-old was fatally stabbed and another 16-year-old student was injured. The incident was described as an “extremely unfortunate occurrence” by Raleigh police chief Estella Patterson during an interview. The suspect has been arrested and charged with murder on a juvenile petition.

Footage of the fight showed two students facing each other before a physical altercation broke out, causing the fight to spill into the gym.

A student was killed and another student was injured after a brawl at Southeast Raleigh high school.

A video obtained by WRAL and CBS 17 showed that during the altercation, one of the students appeared to stab two other teenagers with a sharp object before leaving the scene. The suspect’s and victims’ identities have not been disclosed. Sherelle McLaughlin, the mother of the accused, stated that he was acting in self-defense and did not bring the knife to school.

A teenager was arrested and charged with murder after being accused of stabbing 2 of his peers.

The incident has been described as “appalling” and the school will be closed on Tuesday while the district reviews its security measures.

“Schools should be a safe space for our students and staff,” said Wake County Superintendent Robert Taylor. “What happened here today is inappropriate.”
