When a designer claims to draw inspiration from florals, it’s easy to let out an internal groan. But in the case of Zoe Champion and Wei Lin’s pre-fall collection, the floral inspiration feels surprisingly fresh. Instead of traditional florals, the duo opted for clinical botanical illustrations, perfectly aligning with the brand’s techy values. Known for their experimentation with fabrics and knitting techniques, PH5 continues to push boundaries with color-changing fabrics and machine-configured patterns. The result? Delicate and pretty spindly anthuriums and pansies.
In classic fashion, Champion and Lin divided the collection into three distinct colorways: cherry red and white; chocolate and orange; and lavender and deep purple. Each colorway exudes an undeniable elegance, tailored for the bold and confident.
During New York Fashion Week, PH5 showcased their signature compact knits and oversized clothing. This season, they expanded their offerings with trapeze gowns, camp t-shirts, and wide-leg trousers featuring a trompe l’oeil jean pattern. The brand’s experimentation with new shapes and textures is evident in the addition of fringe trims and gradient sweatshirts with toned sleeves. It’s clear that PH5 is evolving beyond their body-con wavy hem dresses, embracing new proportions and silhouettes.
