For the 2023-2024 MTG competitive season, WotC has made changes to how Banned and Restricted statements are handled. The next statement is eagerly anticipated by players as it will give insight into what to expect for upcoming competitions, like the local champion competition at Dreamhack Atlanta.

The Standard format is not expected to see any restrictions or unbans, but formats like Modern and Pioneer may be impacted. Gamers are also waiting to see if any cards will be unbanned in Pioneer or Modern, adding to the excitement surrounding the upcoming announcement.

The impact of restrictions and unbans on the MTG competitive scene is significant, as many cards in a competitive deck can be expensive to acquire. Knowing ahead of time what changes are coming allows players to prepare and adjust their strategies accordingly.

Although no specific cards were confirmed to be banned during the Nov. 28 announcement, it was made clear that Splinter Twin will not be getting unbanned in the Modern format, much to the disappointment of some players.

Stay tuned for December 4th to find out which MTG cards in Pioneer and Modern are getting banned or unbanned!
