Leading Dutch athlete Els Visser secures a fantastic victory at the inaugural edition of Challenge Canberra, further adding to her already impressive season by defeating Fenella Langridge in a thrilling head-to-head battle. The two women went toe to toe, with Visser ultimately proving to be the strongest.
Initially facing a challenging task after the swim, Visser managed to steadily make her way to the front of the pack on the bike, closing the gap on Langridge and eventually catching up to her during the half marathon. In a nail-biting finish, Visser emerged victorious, crossing the finish line with a time of 4:20:48, with Langridge finishing just nine seconds behind her.
