The city of Seattle was buzzing as T-Mobile Park played host to the 2024 NHL Winter Classic on New Year’s Day, and the players from both teams brought their A-game.
The Seattle Kraken made a grand entrance at the outdoor hockey game, sporting Pike Place Market fishmonger outfits complete with life-size fish props. It was a playful nod to the iconic Seattle landmark known for its lively fish market stalls.
In a touching tribute, some Mariners stars past and present were featured on goalie Joey Daccord’s helmet in the form of baseball cards. Daccord channeled the legendary Randy Johnson with a shutout, stopping an impressive 35 shots in a 3-0 victory for the Kraken.
Meanwhile, the Vegas Golden Knights took their own unique approach by arriving in full Elvis attire, embracing the spectacle of Las Vegas in all its glory.
The event was a true celebration of sports and culture, merging the worlds of hockey and baseball in an unforgettable way.
