The Terminator star was already a superstar in Hollywood when he teamed up with James Cameron in 1994 for a French remake, La Totale. The film grossed $378.9 million at the box office, but Curtis recalls how Schwarzenegger included her in the movie’s success.

Schwarzenegger’s marketing tactics were unparalleled, and he promoted his work like no other. Whether it was through the Pumping Iron documentary or his promotional videos for his books, Schwarzenegger made sure people knew about his craft across all arenas. He had a deal in place during his Hollywood run that stipulated only his name would be above the movie’s title. Cameron wanted Curtis’s name also above the title of True Lies.
“I’ve gone to Arnold, and I asked him kindly if he would be alright with your name also being above the title because it feels appropriate for this film True Lies,” Cameron told Curtis. To the Academy Award-winning actress’s surprise, Arnie agreed to the deal.
