Boosting Female Drivers: How a Cycling Veteran Plans to Utilize Olympic Experience

Welcome to an exciting new chapter with More than Equal, where we are thrilled to announce the arrival of our new Head of Performance Pathways, who joins us from British Cycling. With a background as extensive as his experience, Stanton is the perfect fit to lead our team in identifying and nurturing the next generation of young drivers.

Joining forces with Hintsa Performance, More than Equal is paving the way in supporting and empowering female participation in motorsport. Founded by 13-time grand prix winner David Coulthard, the program is geared towards offering tailored support for young female drivers, breaking away from the norm of only focusing on male drivers.

Stanton’s wealth of experience in the Olympic and Paralympic system has equipped him well for this new venture. Having worn many hats throughout his career, his decision to venture into the world of motorsport and More than Equal speaks volumes. “It’s different from anything I’ve done before,” he said. “The opportunity to take the knowledge that I’ve gained from working in the Olympic and Paralympic system and apply it to a system that’s relatively undeveloped felt like a challenge I couldn’t ignore.”

More than Equal is pioneering a new way of nurturing talent in motorsport, placing emphasis not only on what the driver does in the car, but also on their development outside the car. As Stanton puts it, “Whether it’s on two legs or on four wheels, the principles are the same. You’re trying to maximize people’s potential and that’s an exciting opportunity to do something in a new field.”

Working in collaboration with leading experts at Hintsa, who are renowned for their evidence-based coaching in elite motorsport, More than Equal is set to break new ground in driver development. With a team of excellent individuals on board, our program is dedicated to providing comprehensive coaching and support to nurture the next generation of female drivers.

Stanton’s Driver Development Programme team will use his Olympic and Paralympic experience to chart new territories in motorsport. Find out more about this thrilling new venture here. If you can’t wait to learn more, click the link below.
