Introducing the SC48TX stump cutter by Vermeer, designed to efficiently remove large stumps on tight residential jobsites where larger equipment can’t go.
Powered by a 48-horsepower 1.7-liter Tier 4 Final Cat diesel engine, this stump cutter can cut up to 28 inches above grade and 16 inches below the surface with a straight-line cutting width of 65 inches.
“Companies previously limited to mainly gas-powered options have expressed interest in a diesel engine choice for the high torque produced, which will help them work efficiently when cutting below grade,” explained Josh Vrieze, senior product manager for Vermeer Environmental Equipment.
With low-disturbance tracks providing traction and the ability to retract to 35 inches to enter and exit standard 36-inch gates, the SC48TX is agile enough for tree care and landscape professionals to get through most gates while the tracks allow for increased flotation.
Featuring Vermeer’s SmartSweep control system, the SC48TX monitors engine load to provide a smooth and consistent cutter wheel sweep rate, and the exclusive Vermeer Cutting System uses a mounting and retention structure to secure teeth to the cutter wheel, improving the cutting performance.
An optional full-function remote control, operator-sensing control handles for added safety, and an optional backfill blade make this machine very versatile, and with the Vermeer Confidence Plus asset protection program for service needs, this stump cutter is designed for big performance on tight jobsites.
