Congratulations to Beth Potter for being honoured with the award of Sportswoman of the Year! Recently at the Scottish Sports Awards, her WTCS Pontevedra winning run was named “Sporting Moment of the Year”.
Potter recently chosen for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, clinched the world title in the last race of the season at the WTCS Finals in September.
Heading into the Olympic year, the previous track star will have high hopes for her second appearance at the Olympic Games, with a medal in both the individual and mixed group relay event on the cards.
In an award chosen by the public, Commonwealth Games medalist Potter was acknowledged for her spectacular success at the last race of the season in Pontevedra, which saw her take the world title ahead of French competing Cassandre Beaugrand.

Potter only lost out on the podium in a private event, setting records in WTCS events in Abu Dhabi, Montreal, the Paris Test Event and the Grand Final in Pontevedra.
Assisting Team GB to two podiums at Mixed Team Relay events in Paris and Sunderland, Potter will likely be an important member of the quartet racing the event in Paris, as Great Britain seeks to defend their title from Tokyo 2020.
Finishing the year as World # 1 in all rankings, Potter beat Beaugrand by just 150 points in the last WTCS rankings, outliving her competitor on the run in Pontevedra in an performance that is being praised as the Scottish Sporting Moment of the Year.
