Leverkusen, November 29, 2022 – Bayer stands in solidarity with Ukraine by donating 1.3 million euros to the UNITED24 fundraising platform. This initiative, launched by President Volodymyr Zelensky, is a crucial tool for gathering charitable donations to help rebuild Ukraine’s healthcare system.
The generous donation will be allocated to two crucial projects. The first project involves rebuilding the Chernihiv Medical Center of Modern Oncology, which suffered significant damage from Russian artillery shelling. The second project will support the Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery by providing funds for state-of-the-art medical equipment to enhance patient care and rehabilitation.
Bayer CEO Werner Baumann stresses the importance of rebuilding Ukraine’s healthcare system and notes that this donation will have a positive impact on the lives of the Ukrainian people. Furthermore, Bayer’s General Director of Bayer Ukraine, Oliver Gierlichs, highlights the importance of supporting Ukraine, particularly during these challenging times.
In addition to this donation, Bayer is committed to long-term investments in Ukraine, with a focus on rebuilding the agricultural system. The company has already made significant contributions through monetary and product donations and plans to continue its support in the coming years.
