Ryobi and Milwaukee, despite catering to different audiences, are both owned by TTi, a Hong Kong-based company. What is the surprising truth about their manufacturing? Are Ryobi and Milwaukee power tools made in the same factory? The answer is not straightforward as TTi operates factories in several different countries, which includes the United States, China, Mexico, and Vietnam.
According to a presentation given to investors, the majority of TTi’s factories are in China, occupying 52% of the company’s manufacturing footprint. But the story doesn’t end there. TTi’s corporate website also highlights the company’s widespread global operations, indicating that 48% of manufacturing occurs outside China.

Ryobi and Milwaukee operate their own separate offices and distribution facilities in the U.S., with their tools being made in various factories around the world. This means that your average Ryobi or Milwaukee tool is made up of components from multiple factories worldwide, but the distinction in function, capability, use cases, and price between the two brands likely prevents any significant impact from the shared manufacturing facilities. Essentially, there is some crossover, but it’s a common practice for companies with global manufacturing facilities.
