Alex Lifeson’s New LERXST Amp Range is Revolutionizing Guitar Music Alongside New Gear from Mojotone

Get excited because Alex Lifeson has just unveiled a new collection of premium signature tube amps, made in partnership with Mojotone, called LERXST.

This groundbreaking collaboration started when Mojotone constructed a custom head for Lifeson during Rush’s 2012 Clockwork Angels recording and touring cycle. This head was released as a limited edition of 100 amps, known as the LERXST Omega.

Now, the Omega is back for a full launch with a chic new red and gray tolex covering, as well as additional features to appeal to a wider range of players.

The new flagship 50-watt design is a game-changer, offering the option to switch to 25 watts for lower volume needs. Plus, it includes a serial effects loop and matching cabinet options. The limited run hand-wired version will be available for $3,495, while the standard production version will go for $2,495.

But that’s not all. In addition to the Omega, Lifeson and MojoTone have introduced the Chi, a smaller, more practical amp designed to capture the Omega character in a more compact build. The Chi features a shared three-band EQ, serial effects loop, and an eye-catching illuminating Starman logo power indicator light.

According to Lifeson, “The LERXST CHI is an awesome monster in its own right and one of the sweetest sounding amps I’ve ever heard.” The price for the CHI will be $1,995 for the combo and $1,695 for the head version.

Lifeson explains, “There has been an explosion of guitar music within the past five years that has been incredible to witness in its diversity of sounds and players.” He adds, “LERXST amplifiers provide a platform for these players that offers the power and quality of tone of the best amplifiers of the past, while also providing key features like power scaling and high-quality effects loops that reflect the needs of players today.”

Finally, it’s worth noting that LERXST is the result of Lifeson’s “desire to design and manufacture a line of guitar products that reflect Lifeson’s forward-thinking approach to sonic exploration and live performance.” Exciting stuff! Read More
