Despite opening Aaron Rodgers’ 21-day practice window on Nov. 29, it appears that a go back to the field for the New York Jets’ super star may not take place till 2024.
According to Albert Breer of The MMQB, the Jets company has been impressed with his fast healing from Achilles surgical treatment although expectations are tempered. Breer revealed on Monday that “nobody I ever talked with in the Jets’ structure was depending on Rodgers returning.”
This comes soon after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shot down reports of the four-time MVP returning before completion of the season.
“After talking with sources throughout the week about Rodgers’ circumstance, here’s the summation of where all of it stands: It’s appearing not likely that Rodgers plays in a video game at all this season.”
After the 40-year-old declined on the Jets’ opening drive of the year, there were very little expectations concerning a go back to action before next season. New York leapt out to an early 4-3 record which led to reports swirling about Rodgers coming back for a possible playoff push.
The Jets have now lost 5 straight video games while the group’s postseason hopes have all but faded away totally. Taking Rodgers back when he ‘d be less than 100 percent healthy was always thought about a danger, however putting him behind the group’s below-average offending line with no hope of a playoff look would be reckless.
