Deion Sanders is‍ on a mission‍ to find seasoned quarterbacks to support‌ starter⁣ Shedeur Sanders for Colorado ‌in 2024, if he decides to return for another season. The transfer⁢ portal opened for business on⁢ Monday, and Sanders is leaving no⁤ stone unturned in his search for experienced⁢ quarterbacks who can step right in and make things happen if needed. According to‌ Brent Schrotenboer of U.S.A. Today,‌ Sanders stated, “Right now, we’re looking for older⁤ quarterbacks, because we⁢ plan on ⁢winning. ⁣So if something were to happen ⁢to Shedeur, they could ⁣step right in and ⁣make it happen. That’s ‌what we’re looking for.”

Despite ⁤a disappointing ‍4-8‌ season, Shedeur ‌Sanders⁣ had an outstanding first season ‌at Colorado, generating a lot of buzz for the NFL Draft. ‌He set a school⁤ record with 3,230 passing yards, throwing for 27 touchdowns against 3 interceptions while completing 69.3 percent ‍of his attempts.

While ‌Deion Sanders has⁢ been⁢ vocal about his sons Shedeur⁢ and Shilo staying in Boulder despite their opportunity to play on Sundays, he has not confirmed whether they will be‍ returning for another season. ”It’s up‍ to us,” ‌Sanders⁣ said, per Schrotenboer. “We⁤ do things as ‌a family, and my ⁣kids respect ⁣the heck out of me and my decision-making and getting them to where they want to ⁣go.”

Shedeur missed the Buffaloes’ last game of ⁣the season due to a back injury⁣ after suffering ⁤various arm and ankle injuries earlier in the season. He ‌finished ‍the season with⁢ 52⁣ sacks taken, the most in the nation. If the offensive line⁢ play ⁢doesn’t improve in 2024, Deion Sanders⁢ is looking to add a number of ‌viable backup options if ⁢his son is forced to ‍miss time.

“We’ve already ‍drafted what we need in each position ‌well ⁤before the season ⁤concluded,” ‍said Sanders, through Schrontenboer.
