Sam’s calculated approach to the game has enabled him to navigate through the competition with resilience. Opening up about his background, Sam shared, “I grew up a little gay kid in a very religious family… I’m pretty confident in my ability to hold my cards close to my chest,” in an interview with Tudum prior to the recording of the show.

Despite encountering close calls, Sam remains focused on playing a game that aligns with his values, as he confessed to Mai in Episode 9. “As long as we keep our eye on our hearts and our humanity, because we all have that good core,” he said.

With a laid-back attitude, Hawaii-based scuba trainer Phill never expected to make it this far and is simply taking the game one step at a time.

“If I suddenly become a millionaire, I wouldn’t keep most of the money,” he added. “I’ve personally been helped a lot throughout my entire life by friends and family and I’ve never really been able to reciprocate.”
