Welcome back to another edition of Box Art Brawl!
Before we delve into this week’s epic battle, let’s take a look at how Contact fared in its own brawl. It was incredibly close; perhaps one of the closest showdowns we’ve seen to date, but ultimately the design favored by North America and Japan claimed victory with 51% of the vote. Well done, Europe, better luck next time.
This time, let’s explore the original Donkey Kong on the NES. The arcade game was ported over to the Famicom in 1983, with a release in the West following in 1986. It remains one of the most iconic video games of all time, serving as the perfect introduction to Mario, who was known as Jumpman at the time.
