Get ready luxury car owners! Porsche is set to introduce a customized and enhanced Apple CarPlay experience to its vehicles. The upgraded CarPlay is expected to become available in 2024.
Apple has been collaborating with car manufacturers to bring CarPlay to new heights, offering customized brand experiences. Porsche and Aston Martin have the distinction of being the first brands to enhance CarPlay and integrate it into their luxury cars.
According to a report on Car and Driver, both Porsche and Aston Martin have unveiled next-generation CarPlay builds in their vehicles. While the basic functionality will remain the same, the new CarPlay will feature customizations such as unique knobs and brand wallpapers.
Furthermore, the upgraded app will now connect with all the displays in the automobile, allowing it to display not only the central information but also car-specific details such as speed, temperature, and fuel levels. These car-specific details will not be tracked or stored on the iPhone, as Apple assures data privacy.
Aston Martin has announced that the new CarPlay will be compatible with the new infotainment system set to launch in their DB12 coupe and DB12 convertible in 2024. As for Porsche, details regarding the release of the upgraded CarPlay in its vehicles have not been revealed yet.
