The Dallas Cowboys dominated the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T Stadium on Sunday night, securing a 33-13 victory. In the process, the emergence of a new front-runner for the NFL MVP Award took the spotlight.
Through 14 weeks of the 2023 season, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is shining, leading to him being the betting favorite to be named NFL MVP. Despite being in the league for eight seasons, the 30-year-old has not won the award previously.
While Prescott is leading in the NFL MVP race, the results are not guaranteed especially with four weeks of the regular season left to play. There are other players in the mix who could make a run for the award.

Predictions
The NFL MVP Award isn’t just for quarterbacks. However, it has been more than ten years since a non-QB received the award, last done by running back Adrian Peterson in 2012.
During that time, multiple quarterbacks have been named NFL MVP, including the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, who is a two-time winner and has been looking to win his second consecutive honor this season.
It seems unlikely that Mahomes will win the award, with the Chiefs at 8-5 after losing two straight games to the Packers and the Bills.
It’s also unlikely that a non-quarterback wins NFL MVP this season. Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey are both contenders, but neither are likely to get more votes than the quarterbacks in the running.
Anything could happen over the next four weeks. But don’t be surprised if Cowboys QB Dak Prescott ends up being a first-time NFL MVP winner.
Prescott leads the league with 28 touchdown passes, and he ranks third with 3,505 yards. The Mississippi State product has also thrown only six interceptions through Dallas’ first 13 games.
