Founder of the International House of Prayer, Mike Bickle, made a statement on Monday admitting to “inappropriate behavior” 20 years ago. In a statement, Bickle wrote, “I sadly admit that 20+ years ago, I sinned by engaging in inappropriate behavior—my sins were real.”

He also contended, “I am not admitting to the more intense sexual activities that some are suggesting.”
Maintains that he “hate[s] my sin” and takes it “seriously in the eyes of God.” Apologizing for his past transgressions, Bicycle said, “I quickly and sincerely repented in a way that resulted in receiving assurance from God followed by a daily resolve to live holy in all of my ways.”
Additionally, he expressed that he continues to feel “sorrowful about those past failures.”
The confession from Bickle follows allegations of sexual misconduct from several women.
According to The Roys Report, one victim claimed that Bickle began abusing her when she was 19 and he was in his 40s. The reported abuse took place over several years despite the absence of intercourse.
Boz Tchividjian, an attorney representing the woman, expressed dissatisfaction with Bickle’s remarks. “What in the world does he mean by ‘inappropriate behavior’?” Tchividjian told TRR in a statement.
Though not satisfied with Bickle’s statement, Bickle stated that the woman would not participate in the new investigation opened by IHOPKC because the firm the church hired, the Lathrop Group in Kansas City, Missouri, is known for successfully defending church groups against sexual abuse allegations.
